Do you ever feel as though mornings are increasingly the most stressful part of your day? You wake up, instantly grab your phone to swipe through Instagram to see numerous photos of perfectly placed coffee and croissants, or 100 emails from early bird colleagues when you’re just trying to muster up the strength to go to the bathroom!
Here at Eve’s Parcel, we wanted to share some simple steps to making your mornings more relaxed and productive to give you a great start to each day!
No. 1 - PREPARE THE NIGHT BEFORE
Choose 1 or 2 things that take up a large part of your morning, whether this is preparing your outfit for the next day, making something delicious to eat on your commute to work or even writing a to do list to make your day stress free from the moment you wake!
No. 2 - MEDITATION
Although meditation can be difficult to get into, once you do you won’t look back! Even 5-10 minutes can make a huge difference to your day and really connect your mind, body and soul. It can wake you up gently and really set a positive mood for the day! For first timers, ease your way with a simple breathing exercise using an app like Headspace.
No. 3 - EXPRESS GRATITUDE
Grab yourself a journal and note down 3 things each morning that you are grateful for, and three things you want to accomplish that day, accomplishments could be as simple as a 10 minute walk on your lunch break! This will get you off to a positive and productive start to your day. We love this Happiness journal from Kikki.K.
No.4 - AVOID YOUR PHONE
If the first thing you do in the morning is to grab your phone, then you’re not alone! Try to make a conscious effort to avoid emails and social media first thing. It’s a hard commitment, but it is definitely life changing! These are both bottomless pits that account for an increase in phone time, and it is important to eliminate this in the mornings to allow for a clear head leaving the house.
No.5 - EAT
Feeding your mind and body in the morning is a sure fire way to allow for a great start to your day. After a good sleep, your body needs nourishment to wake up and energise once again. If you are time strapped, try making something in bulk for the week like breakfast cookies that you can grab on your way out the door! My personal favourites are these banana oatmeal breakfast cookies from 'From My Bowl'.
